Salary £28,700- £31,000, salary dependant on skills and experience

Office location either Huntingdon or Lincoln and home working
Full time, 37 hours a week
Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role provides you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office. Your base location can either be in Huntingdon or Lincoln (depending on your location). Expectation of working in the office 3 days a week.

IT underpins Anglian Water’s critical services and in line with other industries and sectors cyber-attacks against these systems have increased dramatically and continues to do so constantly.
Anglian Water remains a target for a variety of threat sources including amongst others organised cyber criminals and those with an interest to disrupt Critical National Infrastructure. Current business priorities and the use of innovative and disruptive technologies can create new exposures and areas of compliance that require cyber security to be at the forefront of our IT services.
We are currently looking for a Cyber Security Administrator who will help support our cyber security team. The role is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to gain Cyber Security experience. You’ll receive excellent training, support and exposure to a number of cyber tools & technologies.
Along with others in the team, the role will be highly integrated within technical and process change projects providing advice and guidance about the implementation and management of cyber security controls, contributing to the development and delivery of awareness material and providing support to security-related incidents.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual who has an entry-level understanding of Cyber Security and IT operations activities / technology alongside some understanding of technical and process cyber security controls.
Although predominantly operating in the Cyber Security operational space, the role will be expected to be involved in supporting the delivery of security across IT services at all stages of the lifecycle, from strategy through design and implementation into operation and decommissioning.
What will you be doing?

The analysis, triage and management of cyber security alerts, vulnerabilities and findings in associated tooling and applications

The undertaking of traditional SecOps tasks such as incident triage and assessment, driving risk mitigation activities and collaborating between Cyber and IS Operations working alongside a Managed Service Security Provider, third-party IT service provider and other internal and external stakeholders

Liaising with internal and external teams as an IT Cyber SME, to ensure the delivery of security changes in line with the SecOps functions

The ongoing management and delivery of an Internal Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) service

What does it take to be a Cyber Security Administrator?

Entry-level qualifications or experience in Cyber Security or indeed a strong willingess to develop

Knowledge of enterprise IT systems

Knowledge of the principles of modern IS services including TCP/IP Networking, effective anti-malware services, technical Cyber-related IT architectures

An understanding of current and emerging Cyber threats and associated security controls

The individual must be intent on learning and developing themselves further

Brave, and willing to stand up for what is right and not be pressured into short cuts

Curious and logical in their problem solving

Personable, able to form and maintain relationships with very technical people as well as able to communicate with completely non-technical end users

High degree of integrity and able to respect the “need to know” basis of working with sensitive issues around user behaviours and company security matters.
