Please note: This role is contracted to 40 weeks per year

We are seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team and assist in the operation of our Mobile Food Van, providing snacks for the School staff.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the well-being of our staff through providing delicious and nutritious food options.
 
Responsibilities:
– Prepare food elements from the menu, ensuring high standards of hygiene and presentation.
– Assist with service over the lunch period, ensuring timely delivery of food items.
– Serve a variety of basic items such as sandwiches, jacket potatoes, sweet and savoury pastries, cakes, and bakes.
– Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the food van, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
– Assist in stock management, including ordering and inventory control.
– Provide excellent customer service, responding to staff enquiries and requests in a professional manner.
 
Requirements:
– Previous experience in a similar catering role is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
– Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in food preparation and presentation.
– Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and customers.
– Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.
– Reliable and punctual, with a positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration.
– Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
