The Opportunity

As an Analyst / Senior Analyst you achieve P&L impact through pro-actively and impactfully improving the metering business. You pioneer innovative data analytical and technology concepts, take a lead on project & campaign deliveries, build a detailed understanding of the metering business and pro-actively address issues, risks & opportunities. Key activities within your role include, but are not limited to:

  • Data & Analytics: Analyse large data sets by applying a variety of (data science) analysis techniques, building detailed subject matter expertise and solving complex & sticky problems
  • Insight & planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to turn analyses into insight to drive P&L impact. Identifying options, plans and actionable recommendations.
  • Leading change: Lead projects and campaigns, drive continuous improvement to enhance business performance and promote operational excellence & efficient growth, pioneer innovative tech & data concepts, and pro-actively monitor business trends to optimise H&S, operational and P&L performance
  • Risk management & commercial optimisation: Identify commercial opportunities & risks through detailed analysis, translating complex data into actionable insights.

Data-driven decision making

  • Analytical thinker: Ability to interpret complex data, deriving actionable insights. Proficiency in MS Excel is a must.
  • Curious: Curiosity-led and pro-active in developing an in-depth understanding of the metering business to a detailed level – supporting transformation readiness, process redesign, project setup & delivery, P&L optimisation
  • Creative: Able to design innovative solutions to complex & sticky problems
  • Numerical: Exceptional numerical literacy and comfort designing method for, and performing calculations
  • Diligence: High attention to detail
  • Advanced analytics: Comfort with advanced analytics concepts & methods across applications, ideally to data scientist level
  • Development & Technology: Ability to read and write code and support the design and delivery of applications
  • Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with the UK Energy sector is beneficial but not essential.
